We often get asked what our company name means. Why we chose it. And what it’s all about. So the story goes : You only show so much of yourself to the outside world and you save all those last little intimate details about yourself for the person you love. The things that no one else would ever even see or notice. The things that make you you. The things that are most important. So you show 60% of yourself to the world, but it’s the last 40% that counts.

With our couples this is what we try to capture. The last forty percent. For Becca and Ryan it’s how she opens up to him. Normally she’s shy and quiet. Holds back, reserved even. And definitely not seeking out conversation. But for Ryan she can’t say enough. Could talk for hours and hours about her biggest fears. Wildest dreams. And everything in between. It’s the secret side of her personality that she shares with only him. This is her last forty percent.

They knew quickly. After only 2 months of dating, Jana and Colin were madly. Head over heels. Ridiculously into each other. So for Colin’s birthday Jana took him to Boston to celebrate. And they did it all. 5 course meals at fancy restaurants. Walking through the city. Shopping. Finding little hole-in-the-wall diners. Just taking it all in. Wherever they ended up they went with it. Because they didn’t care at all where they ended up, as long as they were together.

On the car ride back to the airport Jana couldn’t keep quiet any longer. She knew she liked him. She knew he liked her. In fact, she knew she was in love with Colin. Driving down the highway, she came right out and said it. That she’d never felt this way before. About anyone. She’d never been so certain about anything in her life. And that, not suggesting he do it right then, but if he were to propose, she would definitely say yes. Laying it all out on the table she wasn’t positive how Colin would react. But her heart beamed when he said he felt the exact same way. He loved her too.

And still now, it doesn’t matter what they do. Or where they go. If it was their last day on earth they would rent a yacht. Sail out into the middle of nowhere. Share a bottle of wine. A good meal. And enjoy each other’s company. Or just as easily eat grilled cheese sandwiches together at home and play Yahtzee. Because exotic locations, or simple ones, it doesn’t matter one bit. As long as they’re together.

Sometimes you just need to give something a second chance to find out that it was right all along….

They started dating in high school. They’d catch up between classes. At lunch time. And stop by each others’ lockers every chance they could get. Laura and Kevin were high school sweet hearts. But after 2 years together they decided it was time to part ways.

Still, even though they weren’t dating anymore, they kept in touch and heard from each other from time to time. A quick hello. And update on life. Or just a note in passing to see how life is going. But never anything more. That was part of their past.

5 years later Laura heard that Kevin was single. She remembered their days back in high school and smiled. She sent him an email and they met that night for a drink. Because they already had a history there was no awkwardness. No first introductions. Or forced hand shakes. It just felt natural. Like no time had passed at all. At a Kings of Leon concert Kevin asked Laura to be his girlfriend. For the second time. And they both knew it felt right this time. High school sweet hearts back together. For good.

She loves that he’s the perfect gentleman. That he opens doors for her. Or pulls out her chair for her. It’s not something he has to think about. Or put extra effort into. Beau just likes to see Lenita smile and would do anything to make her happy.

He loves the way she kisses him good morning. Packs his lunch every day and makes sure his clothes are ironed if they’re a bit wrinkly. Not because she has to. Or feels obligated. But because Lenita loves to see Beau smile and would do anything to make him happy.

They don’t have a favourite thing they like to do together. Because they love it all. Relaxing on the couch. Eating a good meal. Or sharing a bottle of wine. It doesn’t matter what they’re doing, just that they’re together. Because all they need to be happy is each other.

ERIN AND DARRYL – THE QUESTION…(photos by yaira)

She had joined e harmony hoping to find her soul mate. The man of her dreams. Her future husband. And as she scrolled through her potential matches she came across his picture. She had a feeling that he was it.

As Erin waited for Darryl to arrive for their first date she was nervous. Ridiculously so. She stood waiting in the parking lot of the coffee shop and looked around anxiously. Every time a car pulled up she wondered if it was him. Knowing that he was coming from out of town, Erin worried that Darryl was lost. With each passing minute she grew more nervous. Thankfully she ran into an old boss who helped calm her nerves while she waited. Sort of.

When Darryl finally arrived he walked right up to her. Gave her a big hug. And apologized for being late, he couldn’t find parking. Some how it didn’t feel like they were meeting for the first time. Instead like they’d known each other their whole lives. The first date was supposed to be a simple coffee. But they ended up walking through the park. Sat on a bench and talked for hours. Went out for sushi. And then had a bonfire in Erin’s backyard. As they sat there together roasting marshmallows and drinking wine, the hours slipped away. Somewhere around 3am they said goodnight and Darryl started out on his long drive home. Neither of them could stop smiling.

Erin had joined e harmony hoping to find her soul mate. The man of her dreams. Her future husband. And after meeting Darryl she knew she’d found all three. And he knew too. His soul mate. The woman of his dreams. His future wife. Erin was it for him. And they’ve been inseparable since.
